| I was at the Matt Wertz show tonight and a girl walked by me wearing a "Charlie Schaller" shirt .
I thought it was cool, first because its a statement to wear a band's
shirt at another bands show and secondly because I had no idea who this
girl was. She walked by me later and I said "nice shirt".
She looked at me like I was a weirdo and said "Thanks" and walked away.

| Adam and Alicia got married today.
It was a great wedding, I think just about everyone cried.
I'm sharing a room with Ryan Gano.
| The last 48 hours have been nothing short of amazing. I had never realized the calibur of friends that I have until recently. Dozens of people spent dozens of hours getting everything ready. Whether it was staying up all night to make sure all the CD's were good to go, stuffing jewel cases or cooking all day for the release party.
We got a deal on T-shirts, so we decided to do T-shirts. I felt really austentacious thinking that people would want a Charlie Schaller T-shirt, but ordered 3 dozen in the event that they did. At the end of the party last night we had sold 60 and had to send in another order.
This whole process has been such an amazing and encouraging experience. At this point I would count myself just as blessed had we not sold a single CD. I am again reminded that I am a moderately talented individual who has surrounded himself with amazingly talented individuals. It was them who are really responsible for this album.

| Its 3 a.m.
I spent most of today on the phone, exchanging e-mail, or meeting with printers, screeners, the sound engineer, or the web designer, or the graphics artist. Its rush time, this is the big push.
The labor of love is definitely leaning more towards the labor side as we have literally hours (a little under 100) to produce a final product. This is the big push. This is the business facet of art.
Jared, our graphics artist, and I worked for a few hours tonight over his computer screen as he photoshopped the last changes into the cover. We ran off a single insert and I have now next to my desk the final copy of The Boy Smiled. The case is awaiting the arrival of the actual CD which will be showing up Wednesday evening.
Before I was getting ready for bed tonight I walked out onto my porch. The street was quiet, save the city sounds. It smells like spring up here, living things are outside again. Pretty soon the lilacs are going to bloom. Staring down the quiet street I couldn't shake one clear, persisting thought:
I am altogether grateful to be alive.
